Dabbawala Charity 

Dabbawala Charity is a registered charitable organization working for the welfare of Dabbawalas. Due to COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown since March 2020, Dabbawalas have lost their income. This has created unprecedented economic hardship for the Dabbawala community. Dabbawala Charity has raised online donations wherein people all across the world donated whole heartedly.

We conducted the following welfare activities for the Dabbawalas affected by the COVID-19 pandemic:

1. Distribution of ration to Dabbawalas in nook and corner of Mumbai
2. Direct financial support to needy Dabbawalas
3. Distribution of cycles to help Dabbawalas restart their business
4. Creation of a Women’s Cell in Dabbawalas and distribution of financial aid directly to female head of Dabbawala family
